Glenn Agre Bergman & Fuentes LLP announced today that KC Maxwell, a trial lawyer and strategic advisor with three decades of experience representing individuals, executives and organizations in high-stakes criminal and civil matters, has joined the firm as Of Counsel in San Francisco.

KC joins the San Francisco office that co-founding partner Lyn R. Agre opened in 2021, which also includes partner David R. Callaway, a former Assistant United States Attorney and Deputy District Attorney, and special counsel Burke E. Strunsky, a former Superior Court judge. Her arrival deepens the firm’s West Coast capabilities at a moment when venture-backed companies are increasingly facing investor conflict and regulatory scrutiny.

“KC has exceptional judgment, understands people and sees dimensions of a problem that others often miss,” said Lyn R. Agre, co-founding partner of Glenn Agre, who has known KC and her work for nearly 25 years. “She understands and anticipates the broader business consequences of legal strategy. I’m thrilled to be working with her again to help us expand the San Francisco office.”

KC comes to Glenn Agre from venture studio super{set}, where she served as Chief Collaboration Officer and worked with founders and leadership teams on operational decisions, organizational challenges and growth. She has also served as general counsel and advisor to startups and emerging companies while maintaining a litigation and counseling practice and has represented individuals and institutions in trials, investigations and business disputes in state and federal courts.

In her role at Glenn Agre, KC will focus on the firm’s relationships across the technology, venture and investor communities, working alongside Lyn to expand the firm’s West Coast client base. She will serve as a strategic advisor for clients whose matters draw on the firm’s litigation, investigations and restructuring teams. Having worked closely with founders, executives and investors, KC helps clients assess disputes in the context of their broader business implications, including financing, product decisions, partnerships and people, often on timelines that move much faster than the litigation itself.

“Technology companies rarely face legal problems in isolation,” KC said. “A dispute often ripples across the organization. Good advice has to account for what the business needs now, anticipate what the legal strategy may set in motion next, and adapt as circumstances change. What attracted me to Glenn Agre is the quality of its lawyers and the depth of its litigation capabilities. I’m glad to bring what I’ve learned from working inside the technology and venture world to that work.”
