Karra’s practice focuses on bankruptcy and restructuring, representing both creditors and debtors in large, complex Chapter 11 cases, out of court restructurings, and bankruptcy litigation.

Karra is currently a member of the NextGen NYC Committee for Tina’s Wish, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding scientific research for the prevention and early detection of ovarian cancer.

Prior to joining Glenn Agre Bergman & Fuentes, Karra was a restructuring associate at Kirkland & Ellis.  She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lisa G. Beckerman, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Karra has represented:

  • Anthology Inc., a leading provider of education technology software, and its affiliates in their prearranged Chapter 11 cases.
  • Global Clean Energy Holdings, Inc., a renewable fuels company, and certain of its subsidiaries in their prearranged Chapter 11 cases.
  • Certain subsidiaries of McDermott International, Ltd, a large provider of engineering and construction solutions to the energy industry, in their cross-border restructuring involving three jurisdictions, including Chapter 15 recognition proceedings, and resulting in the amendment and extension of $2.6 billion of secured debt and the equitization of over $1 billion in litigation claims.
  • Digital Media Solutions, Inc., an advertising technology company, and certain of its subsidiaries in their Chapter 11 cases.
  • Yellow Corporation, a trucking and logistics company, and certain of its subsidiaries in their Chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, through which they conducted a marketing and sale process for their real estate and rolling stock assets, followed by an orderly liquidation of remaining assets and the creation of a liquidation trust for the resolution and pursuit of remaining estate causes of action.
