Lyn Agre is quoted in a Daily Journal article that discusses two civil lawsuits, filed jointly by Agre and Elizabeth Grossman, alleging that the death of Amber Marcotte in 2020 was a result of failures by the sheriff’s department to implement security practices related to the introduction of drugs into the jail, including the allowance of staff to bring drugs into the facility.

Commenting on the filing, Agre told The Daily Journal that: “If there’s more transparency that can be brought from this case, it will help other families, … but without letting the family understand and know how this happened on the watch of the county, it further upsets the grieving process and really doesn’t let them move on and heal.”
